TEACHING METHOD IN GENERAL
Teaching Method
• Students begin their training by acquiring a body of musical concepts as well as each guzheng fingering technique, from fundamental to advanced, using a personalized approach based on music pieces from short to long, that are suitable for their level.
• Guzheng Duet, Trio & Ensemble Class & Performances.
It is strongly recommended for students to join Guzheng Ensemble after they are at the near-intermediate level. Here, students will put what they have learned in the private lessons in the real world at the group rehearsals and group performances.
The group work enhances student understanding. Students learn from each other and benefit from various activities that require them to articulate and test their knowledge. Group work provides an opportunity for students to clarify and refine their understanding of concepts through discussion and rehearsal with peers. Group work also helps to train students’ real world problem solving, senses of cooperation, instant information validation abilities. Also, working with a group and for the benefit of the group also motivates some students and helps them to develop sense of responsibility.
Guzheng Duet, Trio, or Ensemble Classes and performances will further expand students study to a team work environment which enable them to gain the totally different vital knowledge, which include discipline, analytical thinking, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills and more.
